Dr Alla Al-Tayeb is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist with expertise in medical, surgical and hair dermatology. She is passionate about delivering personalised, evidence-based care and has a particular interest in hair and scalp disorders alongside the management of general dermatological conditions.
Dr Altayeb graduated from the University of Southampton with degrees in Medicine (BMBS) and Biomedical Sciences with Honours (BMedSci Hons), where she undertook award-winning research in teledermatology. She completed her postgraduate medical training in South Wales, gaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education, before completing her higher specialist dermatology training across Edinburgh, Surrey and Sussex. She was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Dermatology in 2025 and achieved one of the highest national performances in the UK Dermatology Specialty Certificate Examination.
Dr Altayeb has extensive experience in skin surgery and the diagnosis and management of skin cancer, routinely performing skin excisions, biopsies and other dermatological procedures. She is currently undertaking an internationally recognised Evidence-Based Hair Fellowship in Canada, allowing her to offer advanced assessment and treatment for a wide range of hair and scalp disorders, including androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, telogen effluvium and scarring alopecias. She also provides regenerative hair treatments, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), alongside evidence-based medical therapies.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Altayeb has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in leading dermatology journals and has presented her research at national and international conferences, including the British Association of Dermatologists Annual Meeting and the World Congress of Dermatology.
Known for her warm, approachable and thorough manner, Dr Altayeb believes in working closely with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that achieve the best possible outcomes. She enjoys treating the full spectrum of dermatological conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, skin cancer, mole checks, pigmentary disorders, rashes and hair loss, combining the latest advances in dermatology with a holistic, patient-centred approach.
