Our Consultant Dermatologists are trained to offer a variety of Cyst Removal treatments – from excisions and injections to drainage or cryotherapy. Book a consultation today for professional advice on which option is best suited for your needs.
Excision may be effective for certain cysts. Under local anaesthesia, a small incision will be made to remove the entire cyst and its contents using excisional procedures – all while being meticulously stitched up afterwards so that it can heal properly.
Draining an infected Cyst can provide relief from the discomfort. However, it might not be as effective in cases of non-infected Cysts due to their resistance to topical treatments. An excision will be required after the infection has been treated.
In some cases, steroid injections are sufficient to reduce inflammation and avoid the necessity of draining Cysts. However, if a Cyst is infected or unusually large in size, antibiotics and surgical intervention might be necessary steps to resolve of symptoms.
Cryotherapy is an effective and non-invasive treatment that uses cold temperatures. It entails using liquid nitrogen gas to freeze a Cysts in a matter of seconds, effectively cutting off its blood supply so that it can naturally fall away.
Our team of esteemed Consultant Dermatologists have completed extensive specialist training and are members of the General Medical Council’s specialist register. Our consultants work in prestigious NHS hospitals, ensuring you’ll receive quality care when opting for private treatment with us.
